a new, updated version of MENUDO is back, with a contemporary sound and look, and the same universal appeal. The five new members Carlos Olivero (18 years old, Mexican/Puerto Rican, Chicago, IL); Chris Moy (15 years old, Puerto Rican/Venezuelan/Chinese, Bronx / Dutchess County, NY); Emmanuel Vélez Pagán (16 years old, Puerto Rican, Trujillo Alto, PR); José Bordonada Collazo (15 years old, Puerto Rican, Manati, Puerto Rico) and Monti Montañez (18 years old, Puerto Rican, Caguas, Puerto Rico / Now Laredo, TX) are young, polished, highly professional singing-and-dancing boy group.
Back at the turn of the century, guitarist/producer Omar
Rodriguez-Lopez and lyricist/vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala decided to form a musical partnership
called The Mars Volta. They grabbed a few other intrepid musicians and recorded The Tremulant EP,
which was incredible and weird and proved these guys were trailblazing far from the paths tread by
their prior band, At the Drive-In.
The tours supporting each of their albums have proven that The Mars Volta is an endlessly
ambitious group intent on turning a standard concert into something transformative that can best be
described as an aural blitzkrieg.
Sometimes a young band comes along-perhaps they haven't even been a band that long-and they just have it. Augustana are one of those bands. Fronted by a charismatic, deeply thoughtful songwriter with a powerfully expressive voice and effortlessly backed by natural musicians. It's more than a band. It's organic when it happens. The members get together and they just know. Each realizes he will never be better than he is when he's playing with these other guys. And so it is with Augustana.

CLEVELAND – February 25, 2008 - New York progressive metal pioneers Dream Theater are set to
unveil their maiden voyage of "Progressive Nation." A package tour they will headline that will also
feature the talents of Opeth, 3 and Between The Buried and Me.
The tour is the brainchild of Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy who explains: "I've been wanting
to assemble a package tour like this for many years now. With all of the festivals and package tours
that go through America, I've been talking with our manager and agent for over 10 years now about
doing something that focuses on the more progressive, musician-oriented side of hard rock and metal.
I decided it was time to stop talking the talk, lace up and finally walk the walk"

X is a noted punk rock band, formed in Los Angeles in 1977. While they achieved only limited mainstream success, they were widely considered one of the most accessible and tuneful of Los Angeles's many punk bands. Their landmark 1980 record Los Angeles resonated so loudly with the artisans of the city it is named after, that the band received an Official Certificate of Recognition from the City of Los Angeles in acknowledgment of their important contributions to Los Angeles music and culture. They were hugely influential on various genres of music, including punk, hardcore, and folk.
Their albums had a hard-driving sound that occasionally flirted with country and blues; one critic suggests that X "were not just one of the greatest punk bands, but one of the greatest live rock acts of all time."
One of this summer’s most highly-anticipated music
announcements has arrived. Stone Temple Pilots have officially revealed that the band will
be reuniting and will launch a massive 2008 concert tour encompassing over 65 dates and
hitting all corners of North America. Marking the first national tour for Stone Temple Pilots
in almost eight years, the 65 date stretch will bring the iconic band’s charismatic
musicianship and exhilarating live shows to select venues and amphitheatres across North
America. The tour is scheduled to kick off May 17 and will make a stop in Cleveland at the
State Theatre at Playhouse Square Center on May 20.
Richard Patrick (vocals, guitars, bass, programming, drums) and Brian Liesegang (programming, guitars, keyboards, drums) both experimented with electronics early in their careers. Patrick was a member of the original touring incarnation of Nine Inch Nails. After NIN finished its lengthy first tour in the early '90s, Patrick and Liesegang met through a mutual friend and began to record industrial rock together. Their debut album, Short Bus, released on Reprise in 1995, was recorded by the two at a small house on the outskirts of Cleveland. Short Bus became a surprise hit, thanks to the MTV and alternative radio hit "Hey Man, Nice Shot"; by the end of the summer, the album had reached gold status. Liesegang departed in 1997 over creative differences, but Patrick retained the Filter name for 1999's Title of Record, which eventually went platinum and spawned another radio/MTV hit in the single "Take a Picture."

Like their West Coast contemporaries Death Cab for Cutie, Rilo Kiley steadily gained traction in indie pop circles throughout the late '90s and early 2000s before the record industry (and public at large) officially took note. Led by former child actors Jenny Lewis (vocals, guitar, keyboards) and Blake Sennett (guitar, vocals), the L.A.-based quartet held its first practices in 1998. Bassist Pierre de Reeder and drummer Dave Brock (later replaced by ex-Foundation Lassie member Jason Boesel) completed the lineup, and a weekly residency at the Spaceland nightclub in Silverlake allowed Rilo Kiley to hone its mix of classic pop, country, torch song, and folk.
Warner Bros. had previously signed Rilo Kiley in the wake of 2004’s More Adventurous' success, and the group reconvened once again after numerous solo projects to enjoy the major-label backing they'd worked so hard to achieve. Under the Blacklight, the band's first album on a majors' tab (and fourth full-length overall), was released in August 2007.
Hundreds of contestants vied for a spot in Diddy's girl group on MTV's smash reality series "Making the Band 3," and now the show's five victors - Dawn, Aubrey, D. Woods, Shannon and Aundrea - under the name Danity Kane, are preparing to take their musical partnership to the next level.
The group's eponymous debut album for Diddy's label, Bad Boy Records, is an intoxicating mix of sexy R&B, hip-hop and pop that showcases the quintet's flawless vocal talent and passion. It also boasts contributions from such top producers as Timbaland (Missy Elliott, Nelly Furtado, Aaliyah), Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins (Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey), Mario Winans (P. Diddy, Destiny's Child, The Notorious B.I.G.), and others.
UM has — since forming in the late ’90s in the South Bend, Indiana area — cultivated an impressive presence both live and in the studio, quite an accomplishment when considering their humble roots. Building a reputation with the critically favored studio recording Local Band Does OK (not to be confused with Local Band Does Oklahoma — a live EP released soon after) and honing their groove as a stellar live act, by the time 2004’s Anchor Drops was released to raves, the buzz on Umphrey’s had grown loud. Rolling Stone tipped them in their Hot Issue and the Washington Post named the band “rock’s undisputed lord of sonic shape-shifting.”
Picture your next-door neighbor, noticeably talented, quietly charming and extraordinarily friendly. That is the story of Nick Thomas, the singer, guitarist and mastermind behind The Spill Canvas. While growing up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Thomas recorded his first songs at age 15, funded by his father who strongly encouraged his son's evident musical talent. After performing with a few local bands, Thomas returned to his solo music with conviction, dubbing it The Spill Canvas.
Natasha took the US by storm last year with the first British chart topping hit by a female in almost twenty years. Vanity Fair singled her out as the spearhead of a new Britpop invasion; she became one of the faces of Gap (alongside Mia Farrow and Common); she was invited by her hero Prince to jam with him at a private party; Bono enlisted her for his (RED) campaign; and her song Unwritten proved to be the most played song on mainstream American radio in 2006.

The Breeders are an American rock band, formed in 1988 as a side project for Kim Deal of the Pixies and Tanya Donelly of Throwing Muses. After those original bands became less active, The Breeders became more important to both artists. A tape was sent of their original demos to Ivo Watts-Russell, who immediately signed the band to his 4AD label in 1989. Their debut album, "Pod", was recorded by Steve Albini and released on 4AD in 1990. Deal's influence is obvious, but bassist Josephine Wiggs and Slint drummer Britt Walford (credited here as Shannon Doughton) add to the ensemble sound.
By the release of the four-song EP "Safari" in 1992, Deal was done with Pixies and had enlisted her twin sister Kelley Deal to play guitar for the Breeders. Donelly exited the band to form Belly, and drummer Jim MacPherson joined in time for "Last Splash" in 1993. The album spawned the hit "Cannonball."
The Trews’ reputation is built on buffed and visceral rock songs, but on their third album, No Time for Later, they cohere like never before. The structures are more compelling, the playing is more articulate, and the results more nourishing. If it’s the shrewd marriage of new and classic rock that accounts for the Trews’ remarkable multi-generational appeal – meaning they’re as welcome on Canada’s MuchMusic as they are inside the pages of the UK’s Classic Rock magazine – then No Time for Later finds the band expanding at both ends of the spectrum.
